HOW TO FIX CORRUPTED FILES IN WINDOWS XP

INSTRUCTIONS

Click "start" then select "Run."
Type "cmd" in the open box and press enter key. The command prompt window opens.
type "chkdsk volume:/r" at the command prompt then press enter key. the chkdsk command utility scans automatically the operating system (windows xp) for corrupted file and repair them.
press "Y" key, then press enter key if prompted by the system, to schedule the chkdsk utility. This warning message appears only if the disk is in use when you want to run the utility.
Restart the computer. chkdsk automatically start and repair the corrupted files.
